I chose to include this video because of the eye makeup on the backing dancers. They all have circular shaped body paint on their arms but what struck me the most was the white shield shape around one of the eyes. The colour white on dark skin looks amazing. Striking and beautiful.
I love their hair as well, long and braided but it looks shaved at either side again showing a mixture of beauty and harsh styling but it works really well. I like the idea of their hair being braided around their forehead… Food for thought!
Can’t say I’ll be listening to her music again though…
This song makes me sing and dance as soon as I hear it so I had to play it a couple of times because I kept missing out on the styling!
I love her eyebrows at approximately 2 minutes through the video, they’re wild but perfect at the same time. AGAIN showing beauty in many way not nessessarily perfection.
The patterns, textures and design of all the outfits are beautiful and so delicate. I love the accessories she wears like the head dress and I know I definately want to make my own!
The gold mask created with stars on her face at the end of the video is beautiful and could have been taken from the idea of face painting or tattooing onto the face. The textures of the clothing at the start where she comes out of the water suggest very animal like qualities which is something I am intested in testing out on the skin, on paper and as a style aspect.
Yes, the make up on the dancers is great. I think that the lack of hair consideration is a missed opportunity. Apart from the long braids and the headdress, there isn't much to inspire. The song isn't that bad though...
ReplyDeleteA huge difference compared to the detailing in the Rihanna video which is more experimental in style... but that's music video budgets for you.
