“Located in the Western Highlands of New Guinea, the skeleton tribe paints themselves in hopes of frightening off the enemy.”
Wow… ?!8$@! Amazing!
As well as painting their whole body, they use their body as a protection mechanism! I think this tribe in particular will have a great contribution to my work because my plan at the moment is to encorporate the beautiful art work which these people apply onto their bodies with the more darker side to tribal body paint.
The bottom image shows the body paint on the legs being portrayed almost as amour as well as their bones. Maybe I could encorporate this into my looks using accessories or props as protection… I don’t know yet ARGH! I’ll have to see… SO MANY IDEAS!
Looking at the background and their surroundings, I could also use the textures of the plants, trees, grass into my look. Maybe in their hair or as items of clothing.

Some drawings I created to understand more about the body and the skeleton. I want to incorporate the human skeleton and its natural state beneath the skin and create a body pattern which symbolises this.
