Hair Styling with Tribal References

Strong partings through out the hair, slicked back into a pony tail. The partings in the hair look very bold and straight. 

This could be a good inspiration for my hair styling ideas for my tribal look as it relates back to the sticked back hair which some tribes do wear to emphasise their jewellery, piercings and body paint. The partings could go down the back of the hair and turn into braids and plaits. I could incorporate beads and textures such as fabrics and different added hair pieces.

Really love this natural, simple and beautiful look. A center parting with two long plaits on either side of the face. If I wanted to include colour I could use a hair paint or spray on one of the sections of the plait so the colour runs all the way through it.

Katy Perry | Extraterrestrial Music Video

The layers and the colours of the hair references the head pieces which both tribal men and woman use. The colour of the hair piece which Katy Perry is wearing could reference the hair colours and the body paints which tribes use to decorate their bodies. Similarly, the braids along the front of the hair line contrast against the colour of the rest of her hair.
This video is obviously is more alien styling but aspects of her image in this particular shot shows links with tribal styling such as the hair and the face decoration.
