This amazing design was created by Laura Rooney and here are the final images I produced of her work... 

From the Beginning

The Storyboard tells it all...

Right from the start, the skeleton tribe gave me such inspiration and opened my mind to be as creative as can be. Now it has finally concluded with me producing some really strong images which I am so proud of. I have learnt fascinating things from information on the tribes, through the wonderful work of Seema Chopra and also a lot of myself as an artist.

This storyboard shows the focal points through my research which inspired and influenced me to create the looks that I did throughout the last couple of months.

Application of Design

After looking at the images I was given, the search began for a model. Model Mayhem is a blessing, you search models in your area and and their profiles come up. As I was looking I recognised one of the girls from a previous shoot I did for Smooch Cosmetics and who I was already connected to on Facebook. I emailed her and she agreed to model for me on Monday.

Application of Makeup:
Firstly I started by creating the perfect base and contoured the face.
Kryolan's Concealer
Illamasqua's Rich Liquid Foundation
Illamasqua's translucent powder
Illamasqua's Duo Bronzers

Then I started on the eyes and facial pattern.
MUA's matt eyeshadow in white and brown
Collection 2000 eyeliner pen
Mally Mascara in Jet Black
Illamasqua's Brow Gel
MAC Black Matt lipmix
Jemma Kids Lipgloss in Red
Illamasqua's Eyeliner in Black, white and Brown

Hair:
Fillers earth in the fringe
Kryolan's Aqua Colour Palette
3 packets of crimped styled Xtensions hair in dark red, dark brown and jet black

Body:
Xpressions Acrylic Paint in black mixed with water
Illamasqua's Eyeliner in white
Illamasqua's Red lip liner in Red
Duo Glue and a broken gold earring on the forehead.

I bought some bra pads from Primark to stick of my models chest so she would feel more comfortable shooting and when I was applying the paint onto her body.

All in all this experience was a real learning curve for me. I learnt how to interpret someone else's idea and apply it to a model. I also learnt how to be more creative and less of a perfectionist when it came to application. Both of my shoots, particularly my Editorial design was very intricate and precise with the full sleeve tattoo, whereas this look was more playful with the design and application of the shapes and the products. I am a perfectionist, and I can spend a lot of time making things perfect redoing them until I am completely happy however in some aspects it can be a good trait to have, it also means I can take more time and be more critical of my work. My time management has definitely improved as I completed this look in just over an hour.

Show Me The Catwalk!

So I have been given the photographs and designs by Laura Rooney for a timed assessment shoot I'm doing next Monday afternoon. Her work is amazing! So I have to take her images and designs and create her look again in preparation for a catwalk styled assessment.
The look I have chosen is beautiful and I cannot wait to do it!
All I will say for now is the hair is.... BIG!! Preparation is in order for this shoot so I'm going to sort out my kit, do a couple off practice shots and I already have a model in order.
Be prepared for an explosion of pictures over the next few days!
